Compare side by side

Where you stay on Curaçao shapes your holiday. Compare areas by atmosphere, nearby beaches and restaurants, and how you plan to get around. Start with the places you want to visit, then choose your accommodation.

City life and evenings out

For historic streets and sightseeing, consider central Punda or Otrobanda. Pietermaai brings restaurants and bars close together. Check the exact address: staying in Willemstad does not automatically put you within walking distance of the historic centre.

Beach facilities or quieter surroundings?

Mambo Beach and Jan Thiel Beach combine beach clubs with places to eat. Check the walking route from your accommodation to the beach entrance and ask about music on event nights. Lagun and Westpunt are worth considering when western beaches, snorkelling and quieter evenings matter more than city nightlife.

Choose a base for your daily plans

Beaches and attractions are spread across the island, so a rental car makes exploring easier. Before booking, check a few routes you expect to use regularly, plus access to groceries and dinner. Travelling with children or limited mobility? Look closely at steps, hills and the actual route to the water.

FAQ

Where should I stay in Curaçao without a car?

Choose accommodation close to what you want to do most. For city walks, look around the historic centre; for beach days, check the actual walking route to your chosen beach. Plan transport separately for trips farther away.

Does an oceanfront stay always have a beach?

No. Some oceanfront properties sit above rocky shores and offer access to the sea by steps, rather than a sandy beach. Check photos, the access description and whether beach entry is included.

Is it worth staying in two different areas?

It can be, especially if you want several days around the western beaches and several near Willemstad or the eastern beach areas. Compare the driving you would save with the time needed to pack and change accommodation.
