Need mobile data for directions or wondering whether your charger will work? Check your roaming plan, phone compatibility and accommodation sockets before relying on them.

Roaming, a local SIM or an eSIM?

Compare your home roaming package with local plans from Flow/Chippie or Digicel and travel eSIMs covering Curaçao. Check data allowance, validity, calls and hotspot use. Your phone must support the SIM type and be unlocked for another network.

What should you set up first?

Install an eSIM over Wi-Fi and follow its activation instructions. Select the correct line for mobile data and disable unwanted roaming on your home line. Download maps and save your accommodation address and booking details offline.

Can you rely on Wi-Fi?

Many accommodations and cafés offer Wi-Fi, but availability and speed vary. If you need reliable internet for work, ask about the connection in your actual room. Keep mobile data as a backup when travelling around.

Which plug do you need?

US-style Type A sockets are common, typically with 110–130V at 50Hz. Some accommodations also have 220V sockets. Ask your host and check the voltage label on each device. A plug adapter changes the fit, not the voltage.

FAQ

Does a travel eSIM include normal phone calls?

Not always. Some plans provide data only, while others include calls and a local number. Check before buying if you need to call restaurants, your accommodation or other local services.

Will my phone charger work on Curaçao?

Check its label. A charger marked 100–240V and 50/60Hz supports the usual supply; you may still need a plug adapter. Do not assume hairdryers or other appliances have the same compatibility.
