Staying in an apartment or villa? Plan your first grocery stop around check-in and shop opening times. A few breakfast supplies can make a late arrival much easier.
Van den Tweel has supermarkets in Zeelandia and Jan Thiel. Mangusa Hypermarket on Cas Coraweg is another option for groceries and household essentials. Choose a shop near your route rather than crossing the island for a small purchase.
Van den Tweel publishes daily hours of 07:30–20:30 for Zeelandia and 07:30–21:00 for Jan Thiel, including Sundays. Check the store hours again for holidays. Other supermarkets have their own schedules and may close earlier on Sundays.
Do not assume that supermarket hours apply to clothing shops, banks or other businesses. Sunday and holiday opening varies, and some smaller shops close for lunch. Check the specific branch before making a special trip.
Take reusable bags and a cool bag for chilled food. Buy refrigerated groceries towards the end of your outing and take them back to your accommodation promptly. Compare pack sizes and unit prices when choosing products.
